Charcoal Vs. Gas Grill – Which is the Better Grill For Your Needs

Charcoal Vs. Gas Grill – Which is the Better Grill For Your NeedsIf you are planning on having a barbecue for your family, neighbors or friends you might want to consider, the right type of grill to meet all your grilling needs. A couple choices are the charcoal grill or the gas grill.

If you are looking for super fast grilling, the gas grill is your perfect solution. Barbecue parties are a snap with this grill because you are able to get cooking in minutes, with a quick tap of a switch. Also, for those people who can’t seem to stay with the preparation time, this makes life easier.

Plus, you can get it up and operating in no time and be cooking your food shortly after. Due to the convenience of this grill, your food is not left with that smokey taste. However, if you like that bold barbecue flavor, you should probably look into a charcoal grill. Just remember though, in order for you to get that smokey flavor, you will have to gather up the briquettes, light the grill and wait for it to reach its ideal temperature.

Gas grills are operated on regulated heat, and therefore can be used to cook veggies or fish with accuracy. However, if you are planning on a steak dinner, the charcoal grill will allow you to heat it at higher heat of 700 degrees Fahrenheit or more, which is an appropriate temperature for sweltering.

Gas grills are also very convenient in terms of clean-up compared to the charcoal grills. When cleaning a gas grill, you simply turn off the switch and brush off the grill with a metal brush. Other grills require you to wait until they are cooled down before attempting to clean them and charcoal grills have all the ashes that need to be cleaned.

You need to consider where you plan on storing your grill prior to deciding on which type you want. If you plan on purchasing a gas grill, you will need to have it placed away from flammable items. Keep it in a safe area in case of flare ups. If you lack space, you might want to consider a different type of grill other than the gas grill.

If you are concerned with price, each grill differs based on their features. You can pay anywhere from $100 to $1500 or more for a gas grill, because they are of higher quality. If you are on a tighter budget, you can find grills in the $100 to $300 range. Charcoal grills are typically your inexpensive grill and you can fuel it easily with a $15 bag of charcoal, however this is not to say that the costs of charcoal grills can not go up.

Weber One Touch Copper 22 Inch Charcoal Grill Review

Weber One Touch Copper 22 Inch Charcoal Grill Review- The Weber One Touch Charcoal 22 Inch Charcoal Grill is perfect for those who like the

Weber Charcoal Grill classic model grills with some extra features. It has a sleek design and delicious results. Just like any of the Weber grills, the bowl and lid of this grill is made with porcelain-enameled steel meaning it not only distributes even heat, but the grill is built to last a long time even when left in rain. It has a large enough cooking surface to easily hold up to a dozen kabobs, 6 large steaks, twice the amount of burgers, all while keeping flare-ups to a bare minimum due to its classic kettle shape.

Weber designed this grill for convenience. The nickel-plated grate on this grill has two hinged side openings that are built right in which makes adding additional charcoal more safe and simple, and when not using the lid, the handy hook allows it to hang from the bowl. The lid was built to remain strong and rust free, it will not peel or fade.

Also rust free is the aluminum ash catcher and vents. Its nylon handles, tripod base, and wheels which make it easily portable and steady. This grill has a patented One-Touch cleaning system that is setup intelligently with lever activated blades that sift the ashes out from the kettle and puts them into an ash catcher. This enables easy clean up without messy hands.

Product Features:

This grill is built to last a long time and remain rust free with its heavy gauge porcelain enamel finish.

The venting and One-Touch cleaning system allow you to get rid of ash quickly without messing up your hands.

Designed with heavy gauge and porcelain-enameled steel bowl and lid.

Easily re-fuel with the hinged cooking grate.

Comes with a 10 year limited warranty.

Final Analysis:

Pros: This grill has had a great deal of improvements. Clean up is super easy with the One-Touch cleaning system and vent system. You can easily add more coal through the flip-up hatches and move them around; no need to lift the grill to do this. This grill is built solid and meant to last.

You can easily roll it around and the cooking grate is awesome. No matter what food you throw on this grill, you can cook it with good results if you spread around your coal evenly.

Cons: It is too bad that Weber did not offer the upgraded cast iron grate for the kettles anymore. But even though it has been discontinued, you can still find it rather easily.

The Weber One Touch Copper 22 Inch Charcoal Grill is probably not a great grill to have around kids, although most grills are not good to be around kids, this one specifically gets really hot around the base and stays that way for several hours after the coal burns out.

Even the handles get hot so you really have to be careful. Also, there is no utensil rack and not a great deal of working space. However, it still is a great grill and does what it is suppose to.
